Armis Achieves FedRAMP Ready Milestone

Leader in Enterprise-class Device Security Brings Agentless Platform to Federal Marketplace to Support Digital Transformation and Federal Cloud Adoption

Palo Alto, CA – September 9, 2020

Armis®, the leading agentless device security company, today announced it has achieved the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Ready designation. The Armis FedRAMP Edition (AFE) is now listed in the FedRAMP Marketplace for federal agencies. This designation moves Armis further along the path towards achieving FedRAMP moderate authorization.

This FedRAMP Ready designation applies to a specific Armis cloud environment tailored for federal agencies and organizations that serve the federal market. In order to achieve the Ready designation, Armis underwent a rigorous assessment of critical security controls to ensure that federal organizations can leverage the Armis platform to see and control all connected devices.

“Federal agencies have a broad range of connected devices to achieve their mission – from legacy managed devices to new smart, unmanaged, and IoT devices. The challenge of discovering each of these assets, identifying vulnerabilities, and enforcing security is constant – increased by the fact most new devices are connected to the internet, but can’t run a security agent. So while these devices are critical in aiding their strategic mission, they’re simultaneously making agencies more susceptible to cyber-attacks,” said Chris Zimmerman, Regional VP, Enterprise East and Federal at Armis. “Armis offers the first agentless, completely passive enterprise cyber security platform to address the new threat landscape of connected devices. Our investment in the Armis FedRAMP Edition, and our FedRAMP Ready designation, is vital to enabling Federal agencies to deploy managed, unmanaged, and IoT devices in support of their mission and to their confidence in knowing Armis will help minimize the risks inherent in these devices.”

The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) is a government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services. This approach uses a “do once, use many times” framework that saves cost, time, and staff required to conduct redundant Agency security assessments. Cloud service providers with a FedRAMP Authorization have successfully undergone a stringent in-depth evaluation of their data security safeguards and technology, and must continue to comply with FedRAMP requirements in order to retain their authorization status.

“FedRAMP is the gold standard for cloud security in the Federal Government,” said Nick Sinai, Senior Advisor at Insight Partners, Federal Advisory Board Member of Armis, and former U.S. Deputy Chief Technology Officer. “As an industry-leading cybersecurity company, Armis has invested in, and documented, the security controls and processes necessary to protect government data. By achieving FedRAMP Ready, Armis has shown that it is committed to support the federal mission and the American people.”
