Securing Federal Missions – Armis Achieves DoD IL5 Authorization

The cybersecurity demands of today’s defense landscape are relentless. Federal agencies face unprecedented complexity across hybrid environments teeming with IT, OT, IoT, and mission-specific technologies. At the same time, nation-state adversaries are advancing rapidly, exploiting any gap in visibility or response. In this environment, achieving the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Impact Level 5 (IL5) authorization is not just a milestone –  it’s a strategic imperative.

Armis has now reached that imperative. We are proud to announce that Armis Centrix™, the FedRAMP and DISA IL authorized Cyber Exposure Management Platform, is now authorized to operate at DoD IL5, following rigorous evaluation by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). This achievement underscores our commitment to supporting highly sensitive missions across the U.S. Federal landscape with trusted and scalable cyber defense capabilities.

What IL5 Authorization Means for the DoD

This DoD IL5 uplift authorization marks a critical milestone in our mission enablement journey. With IL5, Armis Government Cloud (AGC) can now support a broader range of sensitive workloads, providing mission owners with the confidence that their operations are protected at higher DoD standards. This achievement not only strengthens trust, but also expands the scope of what AGC can deliver across the enterprise.

For example, DISA, on behalf of the DoD, is seeking a modern, scalable, and comprehensive replacement for its legacy Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS). Traditional scan-based tools, while effective in legacy IT environments, fall short in today’s distributed, mission-critical operations.

Armis Federal offers both a cloud and on-prem suite of tools to meet the DoD wherever the mission requires. AGC is an IL5 Authorized AWS GovCloud environment that is dedicated to the DoD, and hosts a suite of solutions that mission owners can enable within their respective tenants. AGC is built with Impact Level 5 (NIST 800-53 Rev 5) controls and is available via a DISA SCCA BCAP.

Our platform provides a fundamentally new approach to cyber exposure management. Fully operational now within DoD IL5 environments, it supports Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), Comply-to-Connect (C2C), and Continuous Monitoring and Risk Scoring (CMRS). It leverages the world’s largest cybersecurity AI/ML engine, analyzing billions of global data points to automate risk prioritization, threat detection, and compliance validation.

Enabling Cyber Resilience at Mission Speed

Armis Centrix™ delivers continuous asset intelligence across IT, OT, IoT, IoMT, and cloud environments – all in a single operational view. It goes beyond discovery to deliver:

  • Real-time asset visibility, even for unmanaged and mission-specific devices
  • Risk-based vulnerability prioritization grounded in contextual awareness and operational impact
  • Continuous compliance monitoring mapped to DoD cybersecurity frameworks
  • AI-powered threat detection and response tailored to dynamic, hybrid environments

This allows defenders to move from reactive patching to proactive cyber readiness, reducing mean time to resolution, minimizing attack surface exposure, and ensuring operational continuity.

Supporting the Federal Mission

Our IL5 authorization coincides with continued growth in Armis Federal, a dedicated business unit serving U.S. government entities. This includes expanding our Federal Advisory Board and advancing toward FedRAMP High, ensuring our solutions remain aligned with evolving Federal needs.

We recognize the immense responsibility of supporting our national defense. From securing defense industrial base assets to safeguarding supply chains and operational technologies, Armis Federal provides the visibility and intelligence to help DoD agencies anticipate and counter threats before they disrupt critical missions and endanger citizens.

Looking Ahead

As the attack surface grows and adversaries evolve, static controls and fragmented tools no longer suffice. DoD leaders need unified, intelligent platforms that illuminate risk and enable rapid, informed decisions. Armis Centrix™ is purpose-built to deliver exactly that, and IL5 authorization affirms our ability to do so at the highest levels of trust and assurance.
