Dean Plant

Principal Sales Engineer

Dean Plant has spent over 30 years working at the sharp end of cybersecurity, from the early days of network perimeter defence in the 1990s through to today’s everchanging landscape.

Based in Brisbane, he leads Sales Engineering across APAC at Armis. His career has taken him across the full cybersecurity stack: partner, vendor, and end-customer environments spanning defence, federal government, healthcare, and financial services. Notably, Dean spent a significant portion of his career within a high-stakes Research & Development environment. In this role, protecting sensitive intellectual property required implementing rigorous processes, access controls and network segmentation. He developed a pragmatic approach to insider threat mitigation and IP protection well before these strategies became standard industry practice. That end-customer perspective is what sets Dean apart. He understands what it means to own the risk, not just advise on it.

At Armis, Dean bridges the gap between complex technical architecture and enterprise risk. He is deeply passionate about moving beyond theoretical compliance to deliver tangible, real-world security change, empowering organisations and end-users alike to proactively defend their expanded attack surfaces.
