He began his career as one of the first professionals hired into the Office of Homeland Security, playing a foundational role in the creation and evolution of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Throughout his distinguished public service, Epperson held several senior leadership roles, including CIO of the National Protection and Programs Directorate at DHS, the first Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and Deputy CIO of the Executive Office of the President (EOP).

Epperson also served as the Senior Presidential Transition Advisor to the White House Military Office (WHMO).
These new advisors bring unparalleled expertise from their leadership in critical cybersecurity and national defense initiatives. Their insights will guide Armis as we continue to deliver innovative solutions to secure the expanding digital attack surface of government agencies.
The Federal Advisory Board now comprises seasoned leaders from across the defense, civilian, and intelligence sectors. Together, they provide strategic counsel on navigating the federal regulatory landscape, shaping mission-first solutions, and scaling cyber resilience across complex environments.
Armis Federal: Purpose-Built for the Mission
With the recent launch of Armis Federal earlier this year, we have institutionalized our focus on the U.S. public sector. - FedRAMP High (in-process designation)
- DoD IL5 (in-process designation)
- Executive Orders and mandates on Zero Trust and supply chain security
Through Armis Federal, agencies can accelerate compliance, enhance asset visibility, identify vulnerabilities and threats in real time, and defend against sophisticated threats across managed and unmanaged assets.
Powering the Future of CDM
Armis has partnered with ECS, a leading provider of government IT solutions, to deliver the next generation of CDM data services to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Together, we are enabling:
- Real-time asset visibility and risk scoring across millions of devices
- Enhanced decision-making through rich contextual data

This collaboration serves as a force multiplier for DHS and other federal stakeholders seeking to modernize their cybersecurity operations in an increasingly complex and connected environment.
Momentum Fueled by Growth and Innovation
Armis’ rapid growth is further evidence of our market leadership and the trust placed in our solutions. Recently, Armis announced a major milestone as it surpassed $300 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), growing from $200 million in ARR in less than 12 months.
This rapid growth fuels our ability to:
- Accelerate R&D across AI-driven threat detection and autonomous response

- Invest in scaling Armis Federal and our public sector ecosystem
The Road Ahead
As the federal government grapples with an ever-expanding digital threat landscape, Armis Federal is proud to stand at the forefront, helping agencies gain the visibility, intelligence, and control they need to protect their missions.
We remain committed to partnering with government leaders, industry innovators, and our growing Federal Advisory Board to safeguard national security in the cyber domain.
