We are seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant who will play a central role in building out our global revenue accounting function.   In this role, you will partner cross-functionally with Deal Desk, Legal, and Sales to drive revenue recognition compliance and designing controls.  We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.   This opportunity is ideal for someone who is looking for a broad range of revenue and other accounting responsibilities within a fast-growing cyber-security company.  A successful candidate thrives in a dynamic, fast-growing, and fast-paced company.  The role will manage the Accounts Receivable Specialist and report to the VP Finance, as well as work closely with the international finance team. The role can be based anywhere, remotely, on the East Coast.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner across the organization with Deal Desk, Sales Operations and Legal providing revenue recognition guidance 
  • Mastery of the order to cash cycle from an operational and technical level, recommending improvements to fine tune processes, document procedures, and enhance controls
  • Manage the SalesForce / Netsuite integration together with Sales Operations
  • Ownership of SKU maintenance mapping and revenue arrangements in Netsuite
  • Ownership of month end revenue close process by preparing all revenue account reconciliations , journal entries, and flux analyses
  • Ensuring revenue recognition reporting and practices are compliant with ASC 606 and can draft and maintain accounting memos to support compliance
  • Maintain weekly receivables and collections report, including tracking of the backlog and DSO metrics
  • Responsible for the collections reporting and forecasting and review meetings with senior management
  • Support sales tax compliance
  • Providing support for external audits

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 7+ years of experience working in an accounting position at a tech company with 3-4 years in a revenue recognition role 
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606 accounting standards
  • CPA Certification
  • Knowledge of sales tax is an advantage
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, and prioritize competing workloads
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, evaluative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong experience with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel ( Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, IF statements, etc.)
  • Experience working with NetSuite and SFDC is a plus
